Senior Copywriter

We’re looking for a full-time marketing/advertising copywriter with exceptional writing and editing skills, who understands brand voice and visual storytelling, and who writes imaginative and energetic copy. This person should have astonishingly unique, creative, and refreshing campaign ideas as well as a strong visual design aesthetic.

ChefSteps is a fast-growing and well-funded culinary and technology company. We design smart kitchen tools, software, recipe content, and other products designed to help people cook more often and with greater ease, and achieve incredible results at home. We are headquartered in the heart of Seattle's Pike Place Market.

What You’ll Do:

The marketing/advertising copywriter will collaborate closely with our content, marketing, social media, and design teams to develop unique campaign ideas and copy that align with our mission, as well as our marketing and sales goals, and help execute them. This person will offer insight to our product teams about how to communicate value to different audiences with different messages. This person must be able to write excellent copy independently, and very quickly, whipping up email newsletters, campaign headlines, short video ads, or tweets. This person must be also able to track results, interpret them, and act upon them.

You must be able to work quickly, with excellent common sense judgement. You know the right questions to ask and you can get the answers quickly without getting bogged down by overly complex analyses. You possess a passion and appreciation for food and cooking, and you’re excited to be immersed in a world of high-quality cooking content.

Key Qualifications Include:

  • 5+ years of marketing/advertising/brand copywriting experience, ideally on both the agency and client sides
  • Intellectual curiosity and a hunger to learn about, and explore, new ideas and concepts.
  • Strong portfolio of short-form copy that demonstrates unique and creative campaign ideas
  • Experience with digital media
  • Experience launching consumer products
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Deep knowledge of brand storytelling through marketing and ad copy
  • Demonstrated ability to assume the voice of a brand personality
  • Ability to write great copy quickly in a high-energy environment
  • Ability to track results, interpret them, and act upon them
  • Sense of humor
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment while staying organized and focused
