User Experience Researcher

ChefSteps is seeking a User Experience Researcher who is looking for a challenge. You’ll be defining user research at ChefSteps, working alongside a talented and passionate group of designers, engineers, scientists, chefs and more. We strive to answer one question: How do we make it easier to cook?

What are the responsibilities?

  • Own user research at ChefSteps. You will be building the foundation for how research is done at ChefSteps.
  • Design and conduct usability tests and independent research into ChefSteps products, customer challenges, and help us validate ideas for future products.
  • Design experiments and surveys.
  • Collect and analyze data from numerous sources including user logs, in-home user tests, on-the-street interviews, remote usability testing, or anything you can dream up that gets useful data.
  • Collaborate with design, data science, and business teams to figure out what needs to be tested
  • Synthesize findings into reports with recommendations.
  • Move quickly, with discipline.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in applied product research.
  • BA/BS in Human Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Computer Science, Information Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of strengths and weaknesses of research methods

Not Required, But Useful

  • Ability to prototype, if necessary
  • Experience with data visualization
